The purpose of the moratorium is to review and if needed, propose revisions to the Town's Subdivision and Site Plan Review laws to help encourage energy efficiency, reduction in greenhouse gasses, water conservation, and development of on-site renewable energy.
The Town Board has scheduled a PUBLIC HEARING on the proposed moratorium for Wednesday May 10th at 7:00 pm at the Caroline Town Hall. This will take place prior to the regular scheduled Town Board Business Meeting.
Members of the public are invited to give comments or feedback about the moratorium to the Town Board. Comments are not to exceed 3 minutes in length, and will be recorded by the Town Clerk.
After the public comment period, the Town Board may discuss comments, raise other questions or concerns, and may voice their own opinions. The Town Board will make a determination if the moratorium is in need of revision or if it can proceed to a vote. If major revisions are needed, the law will be re-written as indicated and then presented to the public for review at a later date. If only minor or no changes are needed, the Board may amend the law at the meeting and may proceed to a vote at the public hearing, or may select another date to vote on the proposed law.
