Privilege of the Floor Policy at Caroline Town Board Meetings  
 
  • Privilege-of-the-Floor is offered at the beginning of town meetings as an opportunity for individuals to provide input to the town board. Speakers have up to three minutes, subject to modification depending upon time constraints of a particular meeting. Each citizen is provided one speaking opportunity per meeting; written input is also welcome.
  • Comments should be directed to the town board. The Supervisor or Councilpersons may answer questions brought forward or defer to allow for further research and thought.
  • Respectful discourse is required.

The Town invites applications for its Planning and Subdivision Review Boards. The Volunteer Application Form can be found under Contacts at the Town website (www.townofcaroline.org). We plan to interview applicants at our July meetings. 


Planning Board: The Planning Board advises the Town on development and land use. It also is responsible for development and implementation of the Town’s Comprehensive Plan. The Planning Board consists of five members appointed to staggered 5-year terms. The Planning Board meets once each month. 

 

Subdivision Review Board: The Subdivision Review Board reviews projects submitted to the Town subject to Subdivision Review Local Law of 2000 or Site Plan Review Local Law of 2014. The Subdivision Review Board consists of five members and an alternate appointed to staggered 5-year terms. The Subdivision Review Board meets only when needed for review of development projects. 

TO APPLY: Applicants may apply for more than one position, although you may only serve in one position. Please indicate the position(s) for which you are applying on the application. Applications may be submitted through the Volunteer Application Form at the town website, emailed to the Town Clerk at clerk@townofcaroline.org, or sent to PO Box 136, Slaterville Springs, NY 14881.
INTERVIEWS: Applicants will be invited to interview with the Town Board at the July Town Board meetings (Wed July 5th 7:00PM, Wed July 12th 7:00PM)

Caroline's Subdivision Review Board will meet at 7:30 pm on Thursday, June 22nd, at the Caroline Town Hall for continuation of Site Plan review of building proposal at 3250 Slaterville Road.
