South Hill Recreation Way

We are delighted that we now have an easement agreement in place with NYSEG to establish a recreational trail extending from the end of the South Hill Recreation Way Trail at Burns Road in Ithaca to White Church Road at the Tompkins/Tioga County border. We are currently calling this 7.8-mile extension the Coddington Valley Trail. The resulting rail trail will connect with the Finger Lakes Trail and promote safe recreational opportunities and transit across Tompkins County. We will be working to make the trail inviting but unobtrusive to nearby properties. A Friends of the Coddington Valley Trail group has formed and has already begun trail clearing. If you'd like to join, please send an email to: <FriendsOfCoddingtonValleyTrail at gmail dot com>
