Seeking Applications for the Town’s Review Board and Planning Board
The Caroline Town Board is soliciting applications for membership for both the Town’s Review Board and the Planning Board.
The Review Board administers applications subject to the Town’s Zoning and Subdivision Review Laws (see Article XII of the Caroline Zoning Law). These are applications for lot subdivisions, both minor and major, and major projects, including major subdivisions, commercial/retail establishments, large-scale solar or battery storage projects, and telecommunications towers. Caroline's Review Board is what is typically called a Planning Board in other towns, as its function is to administer and guide the town's planning policies.
The Planning Board conducts planning work and advises the Town Board on planning policies. Recent accomplishments have been updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, and drafting a Solar Siting Law and a Battery Energy Storage Systems Siting Law, which have now been adopted by the Town Board.
See the Committees tab on the town website (www.townofcaroline.org) for information and recordings of meetings.
How to Apply: Persons interested in either of these opportunities should submit a letter to the Town Clerk (clerk@townofcaroline.org) explaining which position they are interested in and why they are interested in serving, detailing relevant community and/or work experience. Please include your address, email, and phone number.
