Seeking Applicants for the Town’s Review Board and Planning Board
The Caroline Town Board is soliciting applications for membership on the Town’s Review Board. We have two vacancies on the Review Board (member and alternate). There are also openings on the town's Planning Board.
The Review Board administers applications subject to the Town’s Site Plan and Subdivision Review Laws (see Article XII of zoning law). These are applications for lot subdivisions, both minor and major, and major projects, including major subdivisions, commercial/retail establishments, large-scale solar or battery storage projects, and telecommunications towers.
The Planning Board conducts planning work and advises the Town Board on planning measures. Recent accomplishments have been updating the Town’s Comprehensive Plan, and drafting a Solar Siting Law and a Battery Energy Storage Systems Siting Law, which have now been adopted by the Town Board.
Persons interested in either of these opportunities should submit a letter to the Town Clerk (clerk@townofcaroline.org) explaining which position they are interested in and why they are interested in serving, detailing relevant community and/or work experience. Please include your address, email, and phone number.
