The Caroline Planning Board is currently focusing on updating and improving strategies for implementing Caroline's comprehensive plan. This past fall and winter, the Caroline Planning Board held three community workshops to generate and develop strategies for implementing specific areas of the Comprehensive Plan. Results from those workshops are given down below. A huge thank you to everyone that participated in these workshops!
At each workshop, residents discussed ideas that were generated at the workshop as well as suggestions sent in beforehand via an online survey. During the workshop, participants created lists of actions that could be taken to address specific community concerns. Links to the lists of “recommended actions” created at each workshop are given below.
Please note that not all of the items in the lists will be in the revised comprehensive plan. All of the suggested actions are good ideas, but some are not appropriate for a comprehensive plan (for example, an idea may simply be an action that needs a citizen volunteer or organization to take it on). For the items that are appropriate for a comprehensive plan, there are still many, many suggested actions, more than can be reasonably included in the plan. Through Planning Board deliberations and public hearings, these lists will be whittled to a final set that is included in a draft revised comprehensive plan that is sent to the Town Board for further public hearings and a final vote.
Many good ideas were generated at these workshops that can provide impetus for individuals, community groups, businesses and town government. Therefore, these lists are a community resource and will remain on this website for future reference. Please return and review these lists from time to time.
