If every Caroline home was upgraded for energy efficiency, we would create $9.4 million of clean economic development, create 20 jobs over five years, and keep a million dollars per year in the pockets of our local families. Help “Tighten Up Caroline” by upgrading your home to be more comfortable, safe, and affordable!
Come to a potluck dinner hosted by Energy Independent Caroline on Tuesday, September 27 from 6pm to 9pm at the Brooktondale Community Center to learn how to reduce your energy use and build Caroline’s energy independence by applying for your low/no-cost home energy assessment!
- Learn how to apply for a low/no-cost home energy assessment by local accredited contractors worth up to $500
- Learn how local energy contractors have reduced home energy use enough to enable switching to clean energy
- Learn how to take advantage of new financing to pay for home energy upgrades
Program begins at 7pm. The event features:
- Panel of four Caroline families who made energy upgrades to their homes
- Information and tips from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County on choosing local energy efficiency contractors
- Guidance in completing the 1-page application for a free home energy assessments
- Demonstration of infra-red camera and blower door energy efficiency diagnostic tools
- Information on “Get Your Green Back,” the brand new countywide campaign for energy efficiency, local food, reuse, and transportation
