Town of Caroline Office Building Ground Breaking Ceremony
2668 Slaterville Road, Slaterville Springs, NY
September 22, 2009
5:00 PM
The Town of Caroline in Tompkins County will hold a ground breaking ceremony for it’s new energy-efficient Town Office Building on Tuesday September 22 at 5:00pm, at 2668 Slaterville Road, next to the Caroline Town Hall.
The Town Office Building design is highly energy-efficient and includes renewable energy systems to power the majority of the building, including a geothermal heating-cooling system and an 12.6 kilowatt array of photovoltaic solar panels.
The Office Building will be one story, set back from the historic Town Hall. It will provide space for Caroline’s Town Clerk, Supervisor, Town Council members, Building Code Officer, and also well as storage space for vital town records. The building will house the Caroline Community Library and be open for community meetings. The building will be wheelchair accessible.
Construction is expected to begin in October.
